Hi, I’m Gemma, the person behind GEC Paratech!

I’ve always been fascinated by the paranormal—not just what we might experience during an investigation, but the history and stories behind the places we visit. My ghost hunting adventures mainly take me across the North West of England, with trips further afield to places such as Shrewsbury and Wales.

GEC Paratech began with one memorable investigation. I was using a spirit music box for the first time, and whenever its sensor triggered, music played. It became a real highlight of the evening, and I came home wanting one of my own.

Then I saw the prices—some were over £300! That got me thinking: could I make one myself?

I’ve always loved making things, and my dad taught me some incredibly useful practical skills growing up. With those foundations and plenty of curiosity, I built my first music box. After testing it and seeing how much other investigators enjoyed using it, an idea became a business.

Since then, the range has grown to include SpiritChat devices, motion-triggered cars, REM dolls, static field detectors and much more. My aim remains the same: to create interesting, affordable equipment that I’m excited to take on my own investigations.

Since launching, GEC Paratech has grown to serve thousands of happy customers worldwide. Knowing that something I started at home is now part of investigations around the world means so much to me. Every order, recommendation and shared experience has helped make that possible.

And yes, I’m a woman who designs and builds electronics—and proud of it!
